Build Polishing Around the Contact Tool

August 23, 2026

Select solid polishing wheels, pads, skins, wool, foam, and cushioning materials as a staged contact-tool sequence.

Polishing contact tools are not interchangeable. Cloth, stitched, sisal, non-woven, wool, foam, polishing-skin, and cushioning constructions transfer pressure and conform to the workpiece differently.

Five decisions shape the contact-tool sequence

DecisionWhy it mattersInformation to provide

Build from preparation to final contact

  1. Remove defects and establish a consistent starting texture.
  2. Select wheel or pad construction for geometry and pressure transfer.
  3. Set a staged contact-tool sequence rather than relying on one tool.
  4. Evaluate the sequence on a representative part.
  5. Record the approved construction, size, interface, and process conditions.

GUOWIN's public PL series covers solid polishing contact tools. Exact construction and dimensions are confirmed against the workpiece and target appearance.
